RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-03-2023 Another triple telemeet Thursday, then work, then dog parkn, then iaido, the the ST: SNW musical episode, which I’m very skeptical about. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-04-2023 Triple telemeet Friday? Wth?!? Got a special meeting between Immortal & Den that I brokered at SDCC, then my usual weekly with YMAA customer service, then another meeting with this YMAA person who likes to talk - she says she’s got ‘ideas’ for me, which means she’s going to babble at me and likely waste my time suggesting things that aren’t possible (basically putting more work in my already overflowing in-box) - so annoying but I must be polite because she oversees payroll. Then it’s Friday, finally. Working STS9 at UCSC’s quarry again. Our backpacking companion Marcus is coming from Merced and staying the night to save on driving. We’ll do dinner & hang out, plus Alex (also a backpacking comrade) will join us (finagled a +1 for him because we have control of this venue - RM is trying to get me to take it over as supervisor but I don’t want to do that so I’m dodging RM politrix again). RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 08-04-2023 Sounds like a full Friday, but finishing in a pleasant way. I woke up early (still some jet-lag)(or is it “Train Lag”?) will go into the shop early. After that teaching and then another bachelor Friday, heading into a bachelor weekend, spreading into a bachelor August (H doesn’t return until first week in September). RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-04-2023 Train lag is a euphemism for … ? RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-05-2023 Yoga intensive first thing, then Kung Fu if I have any juice left. Then home, dog parkn, then the Cabrillo Music Festival for a work of Tan Dun’s. Jet-Lag RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-05-2023 Oh I thought it meant… Oh never mind. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-06-2023 Yoga intensive day 2, then a lot of work (swap day for YMAA, 2 articles due this week - KFM & Den), and laundry. RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 08-06-2023 Time to put in the new sensor! RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 08-06-2023 I'm hanging a towel hook in the bathroom and heading over to Rasputin later to look through the sale bin. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-07-2023 Two telemeets for YMAA, two articles to complete, then a noted martial arts publisher is interviewing me for his podcast. He does long interviews, like 90 mins: RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-08-2023 One YMAA telemeet, still chipping on that Den article, and I must cut some pills (not a euphemism). Then over to svale for mom chores. Stacy had a locking mailbox installed so I no longer need to go to the post office, which shaves some 45+ mins off my weekly chores because the PO was on the other side of svale. The best news is that I fixed our tv. It wasn’t working over the weekend but after several reboots, it came back to life. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-09-2023 I’m nearing the finish of that article. Got some odd YMAA tasks. We have a free consultation with a financial agent (another tomorrow). Another publisher is interviewing me for his podcast. His stuff is long, but I respect his contributions to the field. We were going to do it Monday but there was a lightning warned and that gives him migraines, so we postponed to tonight. Also I must prep for OSL. Just picked up a new pair of BDUs from stevens creek surplus. Such a nice store - so clean. And lots of cool stuff - lots of carharts, Keens; bendavies, and a lot of tactical brands. I think I got Proper - 100-% cotton Navy. Just dug out my oldest OSL shirts - 2010 & 2011. I know I have worked ones but they didn’t date those. RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 08-09-2023 I haven't been to Stevens Creek Surplus in years. I used to always buy my surplus cargo pants there. I don't have any reason to wear cargo pants anymore. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-09-2023 I still wear cargos. I luv cargos. I hadn't been there in decades. It's much neater now. Well organized. And so many cargos. Usually surplus stores look like ramshackle flea markets run by PTSD-riddled vets. This place felt like a store, but it had enough brands I like that I shall return when I need another pair of cargos. Rock Med has restricted the pants colors to blue and black. I just tore out an old brown one and an old grey one. I have black, tan, and grey. I got a navy one. Ironically, I don't think I've ever owned a navy pair. Almost done today. Gotta eat a pizza I'm cooking, then finish the article, then pack. |
