RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-16-2023 999-316: Work, Laundry, Yoga, prep for the Phish run. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-17-2023 1000-317- Wow, 1000 days of sheltering in place. I started this thread because in my hustle to get stable employment after the mag folded, my life got weird. I mean even weirder than before, so weird that I had to keep notes to keep track. Honestly, I’m seldom sheltering in place anymore so this seems a bit dated. Maybe I should start a new thread. Today I have two YMAA telemeets that bookend an interview with Nida Manzoor (Polite Society director) then it’s off to the Greek for Phish #1. Stacy is about to leave for a week long workshop in ashiatsu (a form of massage where you step on your clients) at some winery in Livermore. I’ll join her there tomorrow. Bri, Tara’s flat mate will be staying at our bungalow for a few days to take care of Yuki. She’ll be bringing her dog Bottles. Crazy week. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-18-2023 1001-318: A YMAA telemeeting first thing, then some work, then over to visit mom (I'm in svale rn), then pick up mail, then to the Greek for Phish night 2, then to the Purple Orchid Spa & Winery in Livermore where Stacy is taking her workshop. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-19-2023 1002-319: I'm at Purple Orchid. It's lovely. A tastefully decorated spa surrounded by vineyard in the hills of Livermore. Stacy and I had a nice breakfast and she's now doing her workshop. I'm in the room working with a view of the parking lot and some vineyard. I'll change locations soon to enjoy more view, have a bath in the luxurious tub (jacuzzi with colored lights), then head back to Phish for Bicycle Day, then come back here tomorrow. I might pop into the Blue Max on my way to my mom's after work for a beverage. It's where I spent some of that wide-eyed night, that first time, many moons ago...I don't really remember any of it tho. --tg RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 04-19-2023 Are we talking about Albert Hoffman's bicycle ride? RE: Sheltering in Place - thatguy - 04-19-2023 We are...it's now a "holiday" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_Day Quote:The celebration of Bicycle Day originated in DeKalb, Illinois, in 1985, when Thomas B. Roberts, then a professor at Northern Illinois University, invented the name "Bicycle Day"[a] when he founded the first celebration at his home.[12]Several years later, he sent an announcement made by one of his students to friends and Internet lists, thus propagating the idea and the celebration. His original intent was to commemorate Hofmann's original, accidental exposure on April 16, but that date fell midweek and was not a good time for the party, so he chose the 19th to honor Hofmann's first intentional exposure. --tg RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-20-2023 Always wondered why the date was off. Figured it was a lysergic thang. 1003-320: One meeting down, one to go, then I leave this lovely winery spa for home. Tara is in the Cruz for laundry and lunch, and to pick up Bottles (Bri's dog - she's been staying at our bungalow to watch Yuki). I'll work a bit, then go to iaido, then celebrate 4/20 with some edibles and ultravi videos, plus some season finales. Happy 4/20! RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 04-20-2023 Mando! RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-21-2023 1004-321- it’s all about work today plus a blood draw downtown for the ol’ A1C. Then some dog parkn (we got called away abruptly because when Tara was leaving the Cruz, she tried to put some air in a tire and let it all out - I think she’s got a bad valve stem - we worked together to get air back in the tire, enough for her to get home). Stacy comes home tonight. Yuki will be so happy. He hasn’t seen her in a week and is clearly pining. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-22-2023 1005-322: Kung Fu, a spot of work, dog parkn, then we’re planning to go out to dinner somewhere. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-23-2023 1006-323: yoga, laundry, work. typical Sunday for me… RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 04-23-2023 Break out the mower. Death to the wildflowers! RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-24-2023 1007-324: work, dog parkn, then I’ll be Stacy’s first subject for the new massage techniques she learned last week. |
