Aren't you always home?

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 03-20-2023

Appropriately for the first Spring day, it was warmer. I had to wipe my brow during my workout, which I hadn't done much (at all?) since Winter started.

Heading to the post office to mail a couple of CDs. Over to the lab this afternoon and going to do some laser cutting. Hopefully not busy so I can work in peace.

Weather should start getting warmer because I'm picking up my repaired Winter jacket today. Then laundry, then go into the shop where there is much work to do. After that, the stabbing begins.

So much stabbing.

A day at big Kaiser doing Glaucoma tests.

seems that way, don’t it?

974-291:just finished the morning telemeet. It was about a new social media marketing tool from Ingram. I was falling asleep. Gonna brave the storm and head to svale this afternoon after work.

Drove home from Big Kaiser in a hail storm with lightning and thunder all around me. Good times.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 03-21-2023

Last night the news showed rain ending here around 10 or 11, but it's still raining.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 03-21-2023

We got National Alerts on our LiEphones that there would be 80 mph winds and thrundershowers until 1:30PM. I crossed hwy17 around 2 and it was still wicked stormy. Feckin harrowing ride. But I made it in fair time, despite some jams for tree falls and a jackknifed truck.

Still raining here in Svale, not hard but constant. I'm delighted that my fence repairs are holding.

Watching the raging weather through my too-high windows; storms outside of the shop are mostly observed in the auditory. Got the Emergency Notifications including a Big-Rig getting blown over on the Bay Bridge (!).

One brief power-outage and a few flickers. So far.

Oh! One gleeful puddle-jump on the bike this morning. About 10-12 inches deep and 20 ft wide. Wheeeee!

975-292: I must get back over the hill quickly just after the commute to be at my work station for Chad Stahelski. They moved my time up several hours.
Then I'll have to write up this piece...

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 03-22-2023

Dammit. Chad postponed. Rep says he's 'under the weather'.

"Oh the dreadful wind and the rain"

RE: Sheltering in Place - cranefly - 03-23-2023

Yesterday LCF and I went for a roundabout walk to the grocery (Safeway on Shoreline).  As we walked down Sierra Vista, a light-pole ahead us suddenly sparked at the top and made a huge frightening sound.  I described it as the sneeze of a T-Rex, and LCF thought it was apt.  It sneezed a couple times.  I think a transformer blew.  There was a black cylindrical thingie up there.  The top of the pole caught fire.  A firetruck soon came.  We went on to the grocery and bought stuff needing refrigeration.  When we got home, no electricity.  LCF had to go get ice, and we were able to move most perishables into a couple of ice chests.  Went to bed early, because without lights there's not much to do.  The lights came back on at 1:45 this am.

’and the only tune that fiddle would play…’

T-rex sneeze almost sounds like a great band name…

976-293: 2 telemeets, dog parkn (sunny yay!), iaido.
