After the movie has sat with me some more, I can't wait to see it again on Disney+. Actually, I'm waiting for the Kraglan-Cosmo spinoff show. That was my favorite arc.
Did anyone else think the pop tunes were out of place?

Saw this again last night. Much more enjoyable the second time through. Still think Cosmo the dog is the best bit in the movie.

Saw it on streaming. Best of the series, glad it is over. I genuinely dislike Star Lord, but I like everyone else. I liked the soundtrack.

Watched last night (into the wee hours of the morning)…I forgot the tone of these movies which is borderline annoying, but succeeded in not crossing the line. They soundtrack is even more conspicuous in this one and I think it does detract a bit. In the first one, the mix tape from Peter’s was part of the storyline. It stood on its own as a retro playlist and became a thing. Here, I think the makers worked too hard to keep it a thing, and it didn’t seem to dovetail with the story as well. Also, I was looking out for the X song Poor Girl, and when it finally came up, they stomped on it…it was quiet background music and unlike all of the other songs on the soundtrack, where they turn up the audio and focus the music, here, they talked over the song the entire time. I was hoping for some validation as a long time X fan and also hoping the song’s inclusion would spark interest and some new listeners, but that’s not going to happen.
I was validated by the Adrian Belew/King Crimson reference in one of the post-credit scenes so there’s that…
Overall, I enjoyed it. A nice end to the series.

Just watched this. I enjoyed it, but was annoyed that Infinity War introduced changes to the story line since I never saw that one. The vivisection thing disturbed me, and gave me a lot of anxiety since it was of course going to end badly. There were a couple of plot holes I noticed - how did he get all that music from after when he left earth? And that dog would be at least 50 years old. How is that possible? No doubt others, but those stuck out to me. And they left it open for sequels with a new cast.
It also had one of the most common issues in SF - they just assume unlimited energy sources. I suppose this is kind of baked into the genre from it's roots in the era of belief in Progress. CF might have a more astute take on that.
