Gumby is still messed up, btw. Those colors - yikes! Tara didn't get through it and I was thankful because it was dredging up bad flashbacks. The only episode of Gumby I ever got was when Pkey ate the bad mushroom...

Benzilla LOVES Gumby. I loved him too, as a lad. No bad flashbacks for me. Yeah, the colors. Washed out. Shot on cheap film, so not much hope there. Still, I love the Blockheads. I mean, Gumby is SO punk, right? Way punker than Bow Wow Wow, anyway.

Eddie Murphy nailed Gumby. Who'd a thunk it was prophesy about the course of his career? I thought he was going somewhere with 48 hours but now it's his cartoon characters that make the most bank. Anyway, as a kid I found Gumby disturbing the same way that H.R. Puffinstuff bothered me. Now I think I just didn't care much for the aesthetic composition of it as a child.

I never liked Pufnstuff. I had a lot of friends that did, but I'm reasonably certain they all became drug addicts. The only S&MK show I watched reasonably often was the Banana Splits. Although I did check out Sigmund and the Sea Monster, but only because it starred Billy Barty as the Sea Monster.
