Sleep late (check) Covid test (still as negative as a G-Man movie review) pay bills (meh) clean up, head over to H’s. We’ll go for a long walk on a beautiful Fall day. procure dinner, then eventually head back to my cave.

Yesterday whilst in the room at the Vets Hall where our class stores its yoga props, I noticed a suspicious bin on the other side marked 'epee cords'

No, I slung it over my back encased in a stylish Victory Fencing Gear equipment bag. I had tacos by the new TFC. Good tacos.

I was particularly amused that they were epee cords. And indeed, I'm on the brink of a major shift in my martial practice. I'm planing to rekindle my iaido practice. My left should is inhibiting my Kung Fu significantly, and if I'm being totally honest, I'm stagnating at the Academy. I'll still go on Saturdays in a flailing effort to maintain my Shaolin, Xingyi, Baji, & Taiji. But it's a struggle. Last Saturday, I was feeling loose for the first few forms in my regimen until I got to Baji and that popped my shoulder something fierce. And Baji is a soft style, like Tai Chi.
So I checked out my friend's iai class. Iai shouldn't tax my left shoulder in the same way because it's mostly holding the saya. I hope to start this week.
939.121 Today is work, then over to my mom's, then back to the house to work some more and dig my iaido gear out of storage.

Nice starry morning - I could see almost all of Orion - and some of the Autumn chill. Today we're getting the big trees trimmed. I won't have to pick up as many leaves. It's Homecoming this week, and today is the faculty/staff swag giveaway. Hopefully I'll get something good. Or at least a snack.

ee-eye for short. Do is the same character as Dao. It elevates the practice to an art. Jitsu is the suffix if the practice is strictly practical. So for example Kendo has restricted targets akin to foil while Kenjitsu you can hit anywhere akin to epee.
