The Blood Moon...Should be visible for most.

https://www.space.com/stargazing/lunar-eclipses/a-total-lunar-eclipse-will-turn-the-full-moon-blood-red-for-over-3-billion-people-tonight
Quote:The best time to look at the total lunar eclipse will be at 6:33 a.m. EST (1133 GMT) on March 3 during the peak of totality when the moon sits in the deepest part of Earth's shadow.

But if you have the time, it's worth getting comfortable and watching the entire eclipse, at least from the partial eclipse phase beginning around 4:50 a.m. EST (0950 GMT), when you'll be able to see Earth's shadow gradually take bigger and bigger bites out of the moon. It'll feel like you're watching the monthly phases of the moon sped up into just a few hours. Then, at 6:04 a.m. EST (1104 GMT), the moon will turn blood red as it enters the totality phase, which will last for 58 minutes according to Time and Date.

If we all watch the live stream, it will be like a virtual gathering! https://www.space.com/stargazing/lunar-eclipses/space.com/stargazing/lunar-eclipses/watch-the-blood-moon-total-lunar-eclipse-on-march-3-with-these-free-livestreams

So much moon. The full occlusion happens at 3:33 am

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 03-03-2026

Woke at 2 and thought about getting up. Woke again at 4 and remembered I could see the moon from my bed. Saw the partial crescent and went back to sleep.

RE: D00M M00N - Greg - 03-03-2026

One of the benefits of getting up at the godawful time to walk the dogs is I experienced most of it from full red to full white.

RE: D00M M00N - The Queen - 03-03-2026

Slept through it.

RE: D00M M00N - thatguy - 04-10-2026

Artemis II splashed down safely 7:07:20pm (central). They still haven't let them out of the box.

(The announce really likes to stress that the inflatable raft they will be deploying to collect the astronauts is called "the front porch"

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 06-25-2026

It just occurred to me that this Sunday's Fruit Orchard Wonka tour (aka Greg Jelly tour https://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=8849&pid=84538#pid84538) is close enough to the Strawberry Full Moon to be an official D00M M00N gathering.

RE: D00M M00N - Greg - 06-25-2026

I've never liked you.

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 06-25-2026

No one does. But I do it anyways.

RE: D00M M00N - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-25-2026

An actual *gathering*?

My flabber has been gasted.

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 06-25-2026

Please no flabber posts. That's disgusting.

RE: D00M M00N - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-25-2026

I’m old. I’m like 92% flabber by volume.

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 06-25-2026

Even grosser

We all old, bruh. You don’t see me posting about my frequency of urination, do ya?

And yes, I’ve thought about starting a thread on that.

RE: D00M M00N - Greg - 06-25-2026

So much peeing.

RE: D00M M00N - Drunk Monk - 06-25-2026

Right? The urination aspect of diabetes didn't hit me until recently. I used to pride myself on my ability to hold it. Not anymore.

When I did the Supergirl screener, I peed beforehand like I always do for movies now, whether or not I feel like I need to. By the end of the movie, I was crossing my legs like a vice.

I'm gonna go pee again now...
