RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-03-2022 857-41: working Wednesday The plumber comes to fix the shower. He just got out of the hospital yesterday. RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-04-2022 858.42: telemeet triptych then off to sf for OSL. RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 08-04-2022 So you are healthy enough for OSL? RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-04-2022 That is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. That was the same question going into SDCC too and that came off okay. I've got a better sense of how my meds work - SDCC was a learning experiment. OSL is less impact than SDCC. I was essentially on my own with SDCC, surrounded by a squad who I've only known via the web since the pandemic (except for Peter) and in a city that I know but is hundreds of miles from home. Keep in mind, that was only my 2nd SDCC. With OSL, I have Tara and her apartment is close, plus I know the crew well (one of the Docs is a close friend and confidante and is fully aware of my situation), and I've worked this venue since 2008, coincidentally the same year when I was first diagnosed with this issue. The real question is the following week, the backpacking trip. Yesterday I hiked 3+ miles (12 floors) in Pogonip with about a 30 lb pack as a test. It felt okay. I'll have to do 3x that at altitude during the trip, if I go. I almost did 3 miles when I was in SF for Bullet Train (got there early, walked to Civic center looking for a plate of beef chow main....no, falafel actually but that's how the song goes) I'm relying heavily on my meds. I've titrated my meds down to just my Nsaids, 1 daily muscle relaxant and 1 neural. I can double the single doses and add the norco if need be. Fingers crossed. RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 08-04-2022 Fingers crossed. RE: Sheltering in Place - thatguy - 08-04-2022 Keep your eyes out for Terra (yeah, right...) She bought a 3-day OSL pass. --tg RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-04-2022 Right on! RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-05-2022 Getting to sleep last night was rough. Not used to city sounds & light + my shoulder was achy. 859.43- OSL 1 RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-06-2022 860-44 OSL 2 RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 08-06-2022 Stomach trouble this morning, but it cleared up. This afternoon went to Hakone Garden with Christina. I hadn't been there since ED's wedding. And apparently I didn't see much of it then since I couldn't remember anything. It was nice but a bit hot. I think Fall to Spring is probably a better time to visit, but it was still nice. Some huge koi in the pond. Sadly there was a wedding so we couldn't see what the map called the "dry garden" which I assume is a Zen garden. RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 08-06-2022 Beautiful day up here, 70 degrees and mostly sunny. The city is slow because of DM’s weekend gig, so nice & quiet. A dear friend was in town for a visit, so dinner and a stroll to ice cream was had. The shop was quiet and fencing was manageable (still off season) RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 08-07-2022 861/45 OSL 3 then limp home… RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 08-07-2022 Yes, I'm patting myself on the back. I've got 40 pages left on the latest run through of the copy edit for The Black Scorpions. I'm going to do that today because Jury duty might happen this week. Also, I want it to be done. RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 08-07-2022 I slept til Noon. Still in my jammies sipping coffee. Might see Bullet Train later. RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 08-07-2022 Catch the Train! |
