RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 06-21-2022

That sounds nice tg. I really enjoyed getting to know Terra at Cali Roots. She’s a special lady for sure.

814: I ate way too much for dinner (Stacy made big bowls of salad and pasta and Alike a pig I ate it all) so I went to bed before sundown to sleep it off only to be woke by some vicious animal fight - a raccoon maybe? Something gave out a death squeal I think. Maybe a coyote killed a squirrel? Did t sound like a cat or dog. It sounded like it was right outside my window. Yuki barked a lot but we didn’t see anything. Sounded harsh.

Anyways, I woke and the muse finally graced me enough to get decent traction on the two Den tasks. I had been blocking on those until now and one deadline is tomorrow, the other is midweek. That muse - she kept me up until 2am. I could go longer but I’ll already pay for it tomorrow so I must quit her for now.

Today, Yuki gets groomed and the property manager stops by for the fire alarm inspection. Then I’ll head to svale to visit mom. We have our gardener who takes care of ranch Macbeth coming by this week to take care of her yard so the place doesn’t look abandoned. And tomorrow I need to deal with more of my mom’s banking. Oh joy.

815: Work and dealing with my mom’s finances and banking.

Limping. Watching a tree blow down on the property. Sorting junk in the garage.

Limping?

My left knee has been cranky.

Gripped, I assume.  Hopefully not a puncture wound.

Cranky eh?

I thought you were holding out on us with the pick-axe story.

My whole body is cranky.

816: Telemeeting triptych Thursday - then Kung Fu.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 06-23-2022

The pick-axe was to dig trenches for the water sprinkler feeder line in the concrete dirt of the garden.

My whole body is cranky, but some parts occasionally demand more attention like my knee and shoulder.

Getting my review today. They already wrote it, and I signed it, so it's sort of a formality. With the reporting structure change, and the new department chair, I got the best review I've ever had by a long shot. So I'm going to see if I can get a raise. It's been 14 years after all.

Scouting new POS (Point of Sale, not Piece of Shit) systems, placing last equipment order before Summer Nationals, enjoying being in my cave.

QuickBooks has left me high and dry, as have the Computer Gods. 3 crashes on my headquarters laptop resulting in total data loss for inventory. Still have my sales numbers, but…ouch. Also, need to get things in enough shape to send The Gummint some tax money at the end of the fiscal year (July 31st). The bookkeeping has been my bete noir since I took over the company.

Computers: Making life easier every day.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 06-24-2022

819: Well today is off to a crappy start. Much like Greg's left knee and Yeti's quickbooks, I've had a nagging knot in under my left shoulder. I don't know why. I've changed my ergonomics at my desk, which I have to do periodically anyway, in hopes of some relief but it's a painful one. Last night, after a somewhat relieving Kung Fu session,  I took a muscle relaxant, had a cbd epsom salt bath, and went to sleep early. Stacy told me I left the oven on and there was another police action on our street. But I was out and woke up late. Of course, today would be a day when I had a glitch in my spamming (I'm a Shaolin spammer now. Don't judge). There was a last minute change in our weekly sale offering and I didn't update ontraport (our spam sending program) so the wrong one went out. I'm now rectifying that but I'm at the end of the month, sales are way below goals (I blame the current state of things causing sales to drop but that doesn't do anything regarding the annual projections) and I'm at the brink of maxing out how many monthly emails I can send (my max is 1.5M).

Happy Friday.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-24-2022

Isn't this usually attributed to retro mercs?

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 06-24-2022

Nah, it's just life. Merc just gives an excuse for a bit...

I'm thinking that my recent tribulations all extend from my back going out. It's a bad one. Still hurts. Stacy booked me for a tub at the Well tomorrow, right across from Cafe Perg.

Def retro merc.
