RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 03-31-2022

730: Our box delivery of organic produce just arrived - Yuki let us know (his only job really). I wasn’t sleeping well in anticipation. Slept well on Monday night but not yesternight due to my mom and not tonight because the delivery. Today is a coffee day…

It’s a big day today - trilogy of YMAA telemeetings, Yuki goes to the groomers, then off to SF to pick up T and go to a screener. There’s some tricky timing with S having a client in hmb and picking up Yuki from the groomer. A lot of schedule finagling had to happen to get to this screener. I long for the days when life wasn’t so complicated and I could just go to sf in a more leisurely way.

731: sleep in… then work.

Might go downtown to pick up some stuff.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-01-2022

Well that didn’t work. I woke up over an hour ago at more or less my usual time and have been laying in bed trying to get back to sleep because I have the rare opportunity to sleep in but to no avail. Finally gave in to read some news on my iPhone here. Might as well get out of bed now.

Snapped awake at 3am from my millionth film construction dream.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-01-2022

That’s some serious construction ptsd…

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 04-01-2022

Only a couple of times a week.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-02-2022

That's a lot of film construction dreams. I didn't realize your career was so traumatic.

732: Kung Fu. Then maybe get to downtown like I planned for yesterday. I need to hook up with my tiedye buddy for some onesies. Prolly write a bit - I'm behind and juggling several articles at the moment. Need to get some off my plate.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-03-2022

734: work, laundry, dog park. my usual.

Still behind in my writing. Too much on the plate at the moment.

Jealous of all my friends at Wondercon.

735: Our new sofa is here!

Just got one more work telemeeting (which I'm waiting for right now) then I can unpack our new throne love seat.

New carpet, new lamps, new sofa, new sofa pillows. Actually have a little change now that we aren't paying for Tara's education...

Kids are expensive. Has Yuki marked the couch as his own yet?

He hasn't even got to the carpet. That will be a bad day when he does. I've installed a special gate between our kitchen and new carpet to keep him out until his paws are thoroughly cleaned.

The new sofa is white. It's as if Stacy is baiting him...

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 04-04-2022

Madness! The chutzpah to have a white couch.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 04-04-2022

Very Johanna Gaines of him.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-05-2022

Had to look Johanna Gaines up. We tossed a sheet over the new sofa. Yuki approves.

736: Got our monthly looking forward meeting in a few hours. Then a blood draw on the way to my mom’s (finally got the damn Kaiser site to work). Our old neighbor is visiting - she moved away years ago and now has cancer. She’s not much longer for this world and is making her final trip to say ‘goodbye’ to old friends.

You've never seen Fixer-Upper? I enjoyed it at first, but very quickly it got stupid. You've seen the Johanna Gaines look if you've walked through Target in the past year or two; they have a collection there. Her decorating style is almost all white, and always some ship lap wood on the wall. If you've got brick outside she'll paint it, even if it looks great. And if you can get in a sliding barn door she likes that too. My nephew's wife (niece in law?) fancies herself a designer and pretty much just copies the look, but I doubt realizes it.
