Dude. My A1C is 7 something. And for my last check up last week, my doc gave me a thumbs up about it. And no, that thumbs up wasn't a prostate exam.

I have qualms about the new doc. He comes off slightly as Joe Rogan. He was very disparaging of the Kaiser guidelines, especially the guideline that says under 7 A1C is good. He wants it much lower. Basically it is my fault I have diabetes. If I did the carnivore diet and only ate carbs at night, I could crush my A1C. Kind of a tough love bracing sort of first interview with the doc. He doesn't like cholesterol medications because they destroy cell walls. He wants me on a special Vitamin D and Vitamin B-12. It was probably the longest doctor visit I have ever had. But it was a lot.

Although the new doc did recommend I have liquid bread as my carbohydrate at night. But it has to be really fresh.

Either my pancreas has completely given up on making insulin and I'm on my way to some sort of diabetic coma or my Diabetes Monitor Puck has given up and it's just throwing out numbers. At one point last night, the monitor just said "High" because the blood sugar was beyond its ability to measure.
I've been using the old method of finger sticks to make sure I'm not dying. I'm not.
