Opened my eyes to stare right into the full moon through the bedroom window. I was immediately awake.

(I'm going to assume you had wine with dinner rather than you resorted to cannibalism)

Possibilities:
1. DM resorted to cannibalism
2. DM, being pescatarian, did NOT resort to cannibalism, because he is not seafood, despite all those disparaging comments on his natural musk.
3. DM is a frustrated octopus alien, locked in his human form disguise and missing his four additional appendages, which explains his general awkwardness when moving about.
4. Spelchuk is the antichrist turning wine in one.

I shoulda just watched Werewolf by Night...

So my pain has returned. It’s much milder but there’s this new intolerable ache that sent me down a tortured road. It’s very distinct and it returned, although it’s milder now, just a threatening hint of what may come again. I noticed it after recovering from my vax last week. I wondered if the initial insult was some sort of long Covid thing. You just never know now.

This is keeping me up tonight…

Last miscalculation of 2022… I hope…

So, how was it?

RE: Brain circus insomnia - King Bob - 12-31-2022

I like the oat milk. IMO better than soy or almond. I usually have oat milk in my weekly latte. I drink my daily coffee black.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 12-31-2022

It was okay, until 3 am when I posted above. I drink coffee so rarely now that it’s always a treat and Verve was my last go to coffee roastery. I still like Verve even though it’s generally a milder brew. Can’t beat the freshness and they give Yuki a complimentary biscuit when we walk over so he loves it.

And I prefer oat milk too. I can’t take coffee straight anymore because it messes with my stomach (I get heartburn easily now, a side effect of my diabetes Rx) and I’ve been lactose intolerant as long as you’ve known me.

Stacy drinks coffee daily and swears by Califa brand oat milk. She orders it by the case. We think it’s the best, but I use a cheaper soy or almond for my breakfast granola. Because I’m cheap that way.

Tonight I have no idea why I’m still up. Maybe because I had a good nights sleep last night? 2023 is off to an insomniac start.

Man, I was trashed for today's telemeet, and Tara called with an emergency right in the middle of it. Fortunately the meeting was short...

Clearly my circadians are messed up. MercNRet I say!

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 01-03-2023

I just now think of it as normal when I snap awake at 3am.

I hope the cub emergency wasn't too much of an emergency.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 01-03-2023

It was a minor emergency but it did require immediate advice.

Perhaps it's the erratic pattern. The night before I went to bed early and slept well until it was about time to wake up. That was in the wake of NYE so I suppose I can't complain as I probably did it to myself.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 01-18-2023

Snapped awake at 2:45 as the Brain Gremlins started their dance. I should start texting the Yeti to see if he has gone to bed yet. The worst part is thinking you are awake but it's a dream you are awake and then you notice it is time to get up.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 01-18-2023

I've been forcing myself to go to bed by 2:00am so I can get more than 5 hours of sleep. I'm getting more sleep, but not sure it is making a difference.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 01-29-2023

Thank you Yuki, for barking an hour ago, and for baking again just now as I almost got back to sleep.

RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 01-29-2023

I slept! Pretty much. Only one or two small bladder club meetings.
