Yeah, Tecnu

...and invest in some goats. They are the original Gods of all things™...

(oh, and http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=1505&pid=54166#pid54166)

That's what they do here in Ft. Ord. Be sure to get a few extra. We made the news last month when a few were eaten by mountain lions about a mile from here. When we had some in Monta Vista, we loaned them out to friends in Walnut Creek to clear their property. It was going ok until they were mauled by a pack of wild dogs.

Our neighbor has goats. I might have to borrow them.

Then again where would I get the refreshing release of all that fear working with that plant?

hey, I think you can still get a rash if you handle the brnaches of the barren plants after the goats have stripped them. They're even harder to identify that way!

I waited for winter to take them out to avoid the leaves. But I'm pretty sure you can get the rash from every part of the plant. You can even get it from the smoke of burning poison oak branches. There was this Boy Scout jamboree, you see.....

Yup, the toxic oil is everywhere on poison oak and will carry into the lungs on smoke eliciting a potential anaphylaxis attack. It can also spread through a dryer if you toss a few leaves in with the load. But I would never do that, especially not if someone was laundering their underwear. That would be mean.

693: Stacy’s birthday. Tara is coming down and they are having a spa day in Monterey. Tara may bring Bottles. I’m staying here with the dog(s). I rescheduled my meetings already because Tara wasn’t sure she could get the time off.

Then over to my moms later tonight.

Happy Birthday, Mrs DM.

Poison Oak Update. I wasn't quite as careful as I thought I was. I had a slight gap between my long sleeves and my gloves. I now have rashes on both wrists.

Yes, happy birthday to the Lady DM.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-15-2022

I doubt she'd ever go by that.

Today has started off well. Stacy won the backpacking lottery twice (Greg you got the email by now). She's been trying to hit it for over a week, every morning at 7AM and has got shut out in minutes. Then she was surprised by her present (new iMac 27") and I got all my meetings moved so we're heading out for a short hike next.

But then a half dozen cops showed up across the street to take our drunken neighbor away in cuffs. He came out peacefully, but then got very agitated when they cuffed him. I said 'hi' to him yesterday and he seemed okay. Not sure what provoked the arrest. We can't even remember how many times cops have been called for him. Poor guy. I like him. He's very friendly and supportive as a neighbor when sober, but the booze unleashes his Mr. Hyde. And he's a big guy, thikk, a surfer - I don't blame the cops for coming out in force to arrest him.

Viscountess DM?

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-16-2022

She’ll deny the whole DM bit entirely. She didn’t take my surname but with good reason. When we first got married she was plagued with mandarin telemarketers.

Now I’m idly curious about how many D00M wives took their husband’s surname.

694: Since I arrived late, I haven’t done any of my mom’s chores. So there’s that plus work. Then home

My allergies have been killing me over the last few days. It’s been so blustery and that’s kicked up a crapton of plant sex scum. Plus I’ve been lax about my qigong and am paying that price with interest. Gotta get back on my qigong wagon.

We did a morning hike up at pogonip yesterday and I wore a mask and protective goggles - helped a lot:

tQ was pretty firm about taking my name and ditching her father's name.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-16-2022

In all fairness, you & KB have the coolest surnames.

My name sounds like an old school cash register

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 02-16-2022

Should have named the Cub Cha.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 02-16-2022

I miss the old school cash registers.

Christina said she wouldn't have taken my surname if it weren't better than hers. After we were married, she got a lot of junk mail from Jewish organizations, which was surprising because I have never gotten any.
