RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-23-2026 Today morning but the bossmang is on vacay so I have no meetings. It's weird. Gotta lotta work tho - YMAA & KFM, taxes (not done yesterday) & my Mom's medical (yikes). RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-24-2026 Still trying to sort my mom’s primary care doc, and I must clean a sword, then it’s over to Tiger Claw cor a shoot, then check in on mom, then the Japanese market for supplies then a night of writing (deadlines, it’s always deadlines…) RE: NTTG 2026 - thatguy - 03-24-2026 (03-24-2026, 07:48 AM)Drunk Monk Wrote: I must clean a sword Don't you just wipe it off on your fallen enemy? --tg RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-24-2026 (03-24-2026, 12:59 PM)thatguy Wrote:(03-24-2026, 07:48 AM)Drunk Monk Wrote: I must clean a sword Sure, in the moment. But you gotta do a deeper clean every once in a while. Actually since I’ve been doing iaido, we do chiburi before re-sheathing. It’s also called a ‘blood shake’ and it’s meant to shake off the chunky bits. Can’t have that gumming up your scabbard, ya know? RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-25-2026 Hump day... I'm about to head home from svale. One of the workers just showed up. They've put up the drywall - not sure what the next step is. Yesterday took a turn when my iaido sensei's dad died suddenly. He had not been well, but his death was a shock. We were texting about getting together for brunch (something we've been meaning to do for 3 weeks now) and he heard his dad was admitted to the ER, coughing blood and had to be intubated. A few hours later, he died. With his change in plans, I didn't have to go to the Japanese market. Today is just work then yoga. RE: NTTG 2026 - Greg - 03-25-2026 Finish putting the caps on the fence posts. Give plants some drinks. Contemplate finish fixing the lattice on the pergola. Those are all euphemisms, aren't they? Today is a work and taxes day, plus a run to the bank & TJs maybe, and then iaido, which will be a bummer knowing our sensei is away tending to his dad's passing. RE: NTTG 2026 - Greg - 03-26-2026 Your taxes will never be done. If you'd like, I can have my sister take a break from calling me about our taxes and have her call you. It’s that ol’ death & taxes thang, only one of which is exclusive. RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-27-2026 My mom’s taxes are essentially done. We just need to find 2 documents which our financial advisor should have. Today I’ll finish my deductions for our taxes. That, plus the usual workload, comprises tbis afternoon’s agenda. RE: NTTG 2026 - Greg - 03-27-2026 Debating going out to continue power washing the fence. RE: NTTG 2026 - Drunk Monk - 03-28-2026 Power washing the fence, eh? Nudge nudge wink wink say no more know what I mean? Kung Fu first thing, then enter my expenses, the Outernational tonight! RE: NTTG 2026 - Greg - 03-28-2026 Make poster. Go to No Kings in Oakhurst. RE: NTTG 2026 - King Bob - 03-28-2026 Hit the car wash for the exterior wash, then had coffee and then to the garden store for a couple of plants. Then downtown at noon for No Kings. Biggest crowd yet, with more young people, although still skewing old. Then hit the fancy popsicle store - very tasty - on the way back to the car. Now relaxing. I'm sorting my small business tax deductions. All different this year. Didn't take it out for No Kings, but I'm wearing my 'Feeling' French' T-shirt which features a nice image of a guillotine. |
