I usually go to the source distributor too but that was at the top of my netflix page. That's funny about Screen Culture. I guess it works for them.

Meanwhile...

Just got a screener invite for this. Sadly, no guests allowed. That spoils a lot of my fun. So now I'm debating what to do...

Three musketeers

RE: Movie Trailers - Greg - 12-05-2022

Um, haven't they made that movie before?

Ooh, a two parter. That did look like a lot of film for one movie.

RE: Movie Trailers - King Bob - 12-05-2022

It's bound to be better than the recent one (although I enjoyed the anachronistic airships), but will never match the Michael York one (Oliver Reed was great). And I just saw on IMDB that there was a 1993 version with Charlie Sheen and Kiefer Sutherland that either I never saw or forgot completely. I think the latter - Tim Curry as Richelieu seems familiar. The rest seems poorly cast to me.

1993 was “The Brat-Pack goes to the RenFaire” and was completely annoying. The fights were phoned in by Anderson. The latest, with the airships, was engaging enough that I let it pass. It was different.

The BBC TV show was actually very entertaining and I recommend it. Again, more “inspired by” than an actual reworking of the original

I knew you would have something to say about it.

We (meaning D00M) have multiple Musketeer threads:

Operation Forune

Was this posted already? Or was that another film with the same plot?

Chhello show

This is the film that bumped RRR off India’s foreign film submission to the academy.

Note that although this says Netflix, it’s Netflix India which we can’t always access through our USA Netflix.

RE: Movie Trailers - Greg - 12-08-2022

I'm pretty sure the Mickey 17 trailer is the stupidest trailer ever. And the fact it was released only on Youtube shorts or TikTok makes it even worse.

RE: Movie Trailers - Drunk Monk - 12-08-2022

Technically it’s a teaser not a trailer. Do we need a separate teaser thread? And it’s Bong so we’ll allow.

It does bug me that we are in an age when teasers (essentially trailers for trailers) exist.

Oh, look, a slow dolly in! Please.

No soup for you.

Getting back to the Three Musketeers subthread, has anyone seen They Were Called Three Musketeers But They Were Four (1973)?
