555: This is a very lucky number in feng shui, so much so that there’s a cigarette brand named 555.
Today I struggle to return to the common world. Post-fest I'm bleary and short tempered. I’ve always thought this is something unaddressed in fantasy fiction. When the kids come back from Narnia or Hogwarts or wherever, I’d imagine they’d go through depression bouts, ptsd etc. After risking so much, expending so much, succeeding in genuine moments of heroism (the diabetic response literally saved a life) experiencing a world of magic and beauty, it’s rough returning to the mundane. So here I am.
Today is catching up at work, a telemeet, then over to my mom’s. That’ll be the hardest. She just called to bug me about more banking issues and there’s no way to explain to her what’s happening. Now I’m upset.
The common world sucks.

DM - curious how you wound up working that one anyway. I don't think you ever said here.
In my world, despite the hot weather there are signs of Fall: There's only one fig left on the tree, the ash has been dropping leaves for a couple of weeks, and the ginkgo just dropped a leaf. And a beautiful harvest moon last night.

I'm still in good graces with RM. They've been doing this for years. Someone dropped off their crew and a slot opened up. And given my performance, I'm now in that crew, as long as LiB happens again.

556: Telemeet then I must help my mom empty a safe deposit box from a bank that’s closing. We worked out the strategy yesterday - took about a half hour and I fear it won’t stick. Then home early hopefully to deal with a work task, then dinner with one of my JNK padawan.
