The parent that passed me these bad genes is dead.
What meds are you on? I've only ever been on this metformin. Been on it for a year plus now. At first, it was crunching my gut and giving me wicked acid reflux but I sorted that eventually. Now it's just another of my handful of daily pills, 4 in the morning, 2 at night.

I was using glipizide and metformin when my Blood sugar was really out of control. I am now down to 3 500mg metformin and no glipizide. Two in the morning and 1 at night. Glipizide was the opposite of Ozempic as those pills should have kept me from losing weight. According to my doctor, Glipizide was a brute force drug. Metphormin works with your body better. I must be on this cocktail of meds for at least a decade or more now. At one point at my worst, the pharmacy tech considered putting my on insulin.

Yes. I'm not a fan of the pills which is why I'm working on trying to get off the meds all together. I did it once before and I'm hopeful I will get there again.

The New York Post summarizes the work of the researchers. They discovered that many common environmental sounds did little to stimulate insulin release, classical music did a little bit, but Queen played at 85 decibels (that's about as loud as a food blender) kicked off the insulin release.

Dammit. My A1C rose again. It's worse than it has ever been.
Part of the issue is my Doc doubled my metformin dosage and I can't take it. 1 pill a day is tolerable. 2 sends me into violent coughing fits.

Diabetes blows. I take 3 500mg tablets a day. I don't have coughing fits. But I figured with all the weight I have lost, I should have no medications at this point. Last time I was at my current weight, I didn't take any pills. I started the big diet for precisely this reason, to get off the meds. Also to see if I could curb the spread of neuropathy in my extremities. Which might have worked but there is something messed up with my right foot. I don't know if there is a stress fracture or as my doctor mentioned, arthritis. Either way it hurst and I limp a lot.
Diabetes continues to ravage is all I know. The damage it has done is permanent. Although, I am probably in much better shape because of the weight loss. At least I'm not on insulin which I really don't want to do. I don't know at what age my father started to ride the needle but when all those injections didn't seem like much fun.
I'm going in for blood work in March.
