In case you hadn’t noticed, your Facebook feed may look like an absolute mess of memes and strange cryptic language. Fear not, because everyone else is having the same issue.
Some point between the turning of 5:00 and 6:00 UTC time, users suddenly experienced an influx of news feed spam. Any celebrity, band or exceedingly popular page being followed by your account is now facing every post made by any account to the celebrity.
Essentially, if John Citizen in the Western Sahara decides to post onto Emma Watson’s Facebook page: [i]everyone [/i]following Watson will see it in their newsfeed. Ditto for the likes of Coldplay, Nirvana, John Cena, Cristiano Ronaldo, and then some.
Users are, understandably, now taking utmost control of the chaotic situation, and using it to shitpost, share GoFundMes, and just share horny sentiments with several billion people on Facebook.
Another big trend is posting copypastas, or generally sharing their grievances with the whichever celebrity they want to. It’s a bad time to be a celebrity who just released a mediocre film.
It’s not the first big tech screw-up in the month of August, with Google suddenly crashing and causing an influx of memes. Google was able to repair its issue within 45 minutes, while it looks like Facebook is asleep at the wheel. Meta Group’s other social media platform Instagram seems to be having no issues with its newsfeed, suggesting that this may just be a glitch solely on Facebook.
Or more sinisterly, a successful hack of Facebook and its algorithm.
Meta has yet to publicly address the issue at the time of writing. [i]We Got[/i] [i]This Covered[/i] has reached out to Facebook for comment.


I didn't notice anything on my facebook, but a Yosemite video I just posted on IG got nearly 300 views in minutes. I'll take it.]]>

Check out the link.  If you look north east of Anchorage across the water there are many dots.  The red dots are quakes in the last 24 hours.  We have an aftershock every few minutes.  Very fun.  As I writes this the house shakes.  I thought I knew earthquakes after living in California for 40 years.  I was wrong.  

All is well.  We have power, heat and water.  And our health.

I'm still alive.

The last forum reboot was annoyed by my custom theme and just showed a white page with HTML links that didn't work right.

I finally found the place to change my theme and all is good.

I will post my P.I.L. and 3 Mile Pilot reviews later.

Turns out that T's friend's brother had a friend who lived on Seabright only two blocks from our bungalow, so we hopped in the car and headed over there with that family. They had a raging party going on. Their yard was fully decorated with gravestones, skeletons, hopping spiders and fog machines, and they had a big projection screen on their roof showing the original [i]Godzilla[/i], or more accurately [i]Gojira[/i], not the Raymond Burr U.S. re-edit, the original. [i]Ghostbusters[/i] was showing on TV inside the house. And that house was spectacular, totally rebuilt by our neighbors over the last dozen years into a cozy hobbit hole. Very impressive. I don't know how many kids there were (or how many adults for that matter) as we were all in costume. We actually lost a kid, who was returned to us by a thoughtful trick-o-treater behind us. I didn't even know that kid was with us. Turns out his parents had just dropped him off at the party and no one was really watching him as we were all too focused on our own kids. He had called his parents on his cell, but we got it all sorted. I was handed a tall glass of red wine, which kept getting magically refilled, and told we were headed to Ocean View, which is the San Lorenzo river side of Seabright, about a half dozen blocks away.

Ocean View has some of the nicest homes in Seabright. All of the homes that border the water are pretty nice. The Ocean View street homes are grand mansions and that neighborhood totally went for it with massive-scale yard decorations. The 'hood's most beautiful homes gone goth. It was crazy with costumed families. Several houses had projection screens showing movies - T laughed so hard seeing the blind man scene from [i]Young Frankenstein[/i] - she's never seen that flick but it's on the queue now. T & her classmate ran into a few seniors who were really drunk, which they both thought was hilarious.

It was awesome, but next year, I gotta get downtown for the freakshow.]]>
