I was surprised by Charlie Cox doing the voice of Daredevil. Plus there is that hotdog vendor who told Spiderman to do a flip and then popped up in Shan-Chi to film the fight on there bus on his iPhone. He is in this to film a drag race.

I was only going to watch the first ep but I got sucked in quickly and watched 3. E1 starts in Wandavisionland but quickly jumps into its own tale - a quest filled with trials. E2 is about gathering the questers - the coven - and there’s some funny chemistry in the painfully representative group. There’s a jade egg reference, which made me think of Greg, and then made me ruminate about how wrong that was along with the grim realization that it may always be so going forward. Dammit, I’d even rather think of Gwyneth over Greg but now my mind is scarred. E3 begins the trials. The first one is preposterous but the hallucinations are kinda fun and character developing. 

Kitty from That 70s Show appears playing Kitty (Rupp has one note) and Aubrey Plaza has a great role. 

I get annoyed ever time I hear Harkness (it’s like Pavlov’s dog hell for me) which couples my Jade Greg egg issue with this show.

But so far, it’s fun, lighthearted and Kathryn Hahn reclaims her MCU role quickly.

To coincide with the release of Echo, Disney+ has rolled out its own take on the correct order to watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s shows and movies. It includes shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, holdovers from the Netflix slate of once loosely related universes. They officially enter the fold, with Echo tying the Daredevil universe in even more.

After Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) showed up on Hawkeye with Maya Lopez’s introduction as Echo, we finally got confirmation that the Netflix characters (for the most part) now share space in the MCU. And then, we got a double-whammy confirmation when Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock and Daredevil in She/Hulk, sharing a lovely casual fling with Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany). Kingpin and Daredevil returning in Echo fits into Disney+’s suggested viewing order, which as you can see below has made some quite interesting choices.

As you can see above, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are sandwiched between a bulk of the former Netflix shows. But really, who’s to say this order wasn’t just loosely put together? Iron Fist feels haphazard here and I can’t help but wonder if Disney+ just guesstimated this timeline; did this really come from Marvel and the man in the baseball cap himself, Kevin Feige?

Daredevil taking placing after I Am Groot is definitely a weird double feature to experience.

The latest from Marvel is so Disney+ it hurts. It’s cute, frantic animation, very inclusive and modern. Eps are less than a half hour. I’ve only watched the premier ep which sets everything up. Not sure when or where this sits in the mcu timelines, but now that we’ve cracked the multiverse and the quantum realm, does anything even matter anymore? No Easter eggs of significance yet. I’ll watch more but not right away…]]>
