The Runner - Drunk Monk - 09-22-2026
I thought this was the recent Reacher flop. This one.

Nope. It's another film titled Runner. I thought it was odd that it starred Gal Gadot. I was thinking Gal & Alan? OK I'll watch that.
Gal is a lawyer and a pentathlete. Wait...what? Pentathlon?! Will Gal be fencing? Please please please. We need Gal with an epee.
Not happening. As the title implies, she just runs. Someone kidnaps her diabetic son and tells her she must shoot her key witness because she's a pentathlete and they shoot pistols. They also fence too. But they missed that part because this would've been so much cooler if Gal had to kill her witness by sword. It's basically a movie of Gal running a lot, trying to make a deadline, which we are reminded of in big red digital letters. After watching Maria Sten run in Neagley, well, I like Gal, she can do action, but no one holds a candle to Maria running. If she starred in this, I'd be all over it.
Gal does deliver some nice acting chops. And some fights. And she does run well. But by the time the Mcguffin happened, I had lost interest and was surfing the web on my phone.
To be D00M avoided.
NOTE: the pentathlon Olympic game is replacing the equestrian event with a ninja warrior obstacle course. srsly.
