Arthur the King (2026) - Greg - 08-16-2026 Mark Wahlberg stretches his acting chops by playing an unlikable jerk in this based on a true story tale of an adventure racing team that adopts a stray dog in the Dominican Republic. Wahlberg takes one last chance to win the first place trophy of the World Championship Adventure Racing league or some such nonsense. He's been out of the sport for a few years after a disastrous campaign a few years ago. But he wants to try one last time for the trophy so he can finally settle down and sell real estate. He has to go raise money and convince people to join with him on the team. Simu Liu a member of the embarrassment squad, now an influencer, agrees to come back. They start the race. They do dumb things. They have problems. Blah. Blah. Blah. But at one of the stops, Marky Mark feeds a stray dog and the dog decides to join the team. Adventures and tear jerking ensue. It was a dumb movie. But I had followed the actual story on social media and it was crazy pants. This movie sucked all the excitement out of a great feel good story. But they did manipulate you to tears many times or tried to. No sword fights. But lots of stupidity. |
