The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel - thatguy - 03-25-2026

I liked it. It covered quite a lot of ground, was a nice tribute to Hillel, touching, sad.

TIL: He played on the demo, but Hillel didn't play on the first RHCP album (which I thought was their best, but I learned from the doc, it has only Flea and Anthony on it).

Recommended if you like music documentaries...

I saw them at One Step in the mid 80s. There were maybe 40-50 people in the audience. They kept their clothes on. I didn't much like it - much too thrashy for me - except for Higher Ground.
