They sound checked Holst Mars (the planets)
One of my all time fav pieces, blasted on the Greek sound system.
That may have been the best thing I’ll hear tonight. Totally made the trip worthwhile.

Triggering flashbacks to my jr high daze.
They sound surprisingly relevant.
Good visuals - vintage computer & retro space + matrix code grids. And they’ve got light up suits. Not sure if they’re really playing. Might be bots. I hope it’s bots. The German lyrics keep it human.
The great grandfathers of edm still got a sound. This is how we thought music would be a half century ago, and they weren’t too far off. They just never sorted the bass drop and fell shy of the crescendo. Very enjoyable although a tad repetitive (but such was their sound)

That was fun.
The last few songs had a more contemporary edm beat. Managed a walkabout during Tour de France and the audience was so joyful. Older, well behaved crowd and they exited very efficiently.
Got back to the bungalow nust after midnight. A pleasant drive home except for the very end - the south side of 17 was thick fog, which made me earn that last half hour of driving.
Unwound to Lady Gaga on the live Coachella feed.

It occurred to me that I’d never heard Kraftwerk on a decent sound system. I didn’t get any of their albums so most of it i heard on my crappy transistor radio back in the day. Maybe I heard some on my folk’s old magnavox. They really open up with a good sound system because a lot of their music is based on weird computer beeps.
