Silicon Valley - thatguy - 09-26-2023 There seems to be no general "Santa Clara" area thread. Since DM and I are here almost weekly and KB and CF/LCF are embedded, I fixed that. I work in Sunnyvale of Mathilda and Maude. Today, while I was working I looked up and saw Air Force one coming into Moffett right outside the window. Biden is apparently fundraising in the Bay Area for a few days. Traffic is muy fukado. --tg Did you know that there is a Monta Vista fault? it's been a bit active of late. All the coworkers are in a twitter about quakes https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monta_Vista_Fault --tg RE: Silicon Valley - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-26-2023 I like this new thread, esp the the lack of spurious, superfluous moons and imaginary "gatherings". RE: Silicon Valley - Drunk Monk - 09-26-2023 I'm in the SiValle right now and the moon looks lovely...getting ready for Friday. RE: Silicon Valley - thatguy - 09-26-2023 I gotta full moon for ya right here! --tg RE: Silicon Valley - Drunk Monk - 09-26-2023 But is it a super full harvest moon? RE: Silicon Valley - Greg - 09-27-2023 Dammit! Keep these posts for the Moon Gathering thread where they belong. RE: Silicon Valley - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-27-2023 Philistines! RE: Silicon Valley - thatguy - 10-20-2023 Do any of you boba? (I don't...reminds me of the salmon eggs we used to use when fishing...totally gross). Apparently the Cupertino Crossroads hosts a boba dispensary that is very highly rated. Word is the parking lot is absolutely crazy now. https://www.sfchronicle.com/food/restaurants/article/chicha-san-chen-boba-18395463.php Quote:The Bay Area is freaking out over this famous boba shop --tg RE: Silicon Valley - Greg - 10-20-2023 (10-20-2023, 10:26 AM)thatguy Wrote: Do any of you boba? If that is the strip mall across from the McDonald's near Highway 85, it already has a super popular bakery in there, as well ***Update****Nope. This place is off Steven's Creek where the old Mervyn's used to be. Carry on. RE: Silicon Valley - Drunk Monk - 10-20-2023 Tara worked as a bobarista both in San Diego and SF (Boba Guys in SF - which is totally hip, started in the Mission and they do fusions like Horchata boba). She knows boba well. I'm not huge into Boba (tends to be too sweet, even the non-sweetened kind, plus it's pricey) but I do like Cheese Tea, which is a variation that adds cheese. It's also called sea foam. When Tara was Bobaristaing, I got a lot of free ones whenever I visited. Those were always good - she knows my tastes. I remember doing boba with Greg & G2. We were both very amused to turn you on to it. It started in Taiwan, which is where G2 is from... RE: Silicon Valley - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-20-2023 Boba = Nasty. Cheese Tea = Unnatural & An Affront to both Man and God. RE: Silicon Valley - Drunk Monk - 10-20-2023 Yeti = obstinate-barbarian-who-will-never-know-cheese-boba-deliciousness What makes it savory is it's usually salted cheese. I shit you not. So tasty. Mmmmm. Now I gotz the craves. RE: Silicon Valley - Greg - 10-20-2023 (10-20-2023, 03:40 PM)Drunk Monk Wrote: What makes it savory is it's usually salted cheese. I shit you not. So tasty. Mmmmm. Now I gotz the craves. Maybe if you put the cheese in Whiskey? RE: Silicon Valley - thatguy - 04-30-2024 This place is a few blocks from my mom's house, on the site of the old cannery, right up against the railroad tracks. I think the complex is 10-15 townhomes. I don't remember when they were built. $2.1 million... 4 bdrm/4 bath, fully remodeled in 2022 for $250k https://10078imperial.com --tg RE: Silicon Valley - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-30-2024 4 br + 4 ba inside 1741 sq ft? That’s a lot in a small footprint. Funny how our childhood neighborhood has become Ultra Fancy and ridiculously expensive. |
