I thought I saw the original before too, but was drawing a complete blank, so I watched it. I don’t think I saw this before. Irons pulls the twins off well, and Genevieve still has it. Very Cronenberg kinky creepy tragic horrific sex twists and mutant gore shock. The double role was pulled off entirely in camera with doubles. Irons’ double is spot on. It got under my skin a little, just the amount typical for Cronenberg. I liked the style of it but it’s all about Irons.
Only recommended if you still like vintage croneneberg

Watched e1 of the new Amazon Prime series. The big switch is gender - the twins are women played by Rachel Weitz . It’s a good role for her. She’s not as overactingly psycho as was Irons. And the shift from male predators to lesbian predators goes from icky to sexy on tv. But man does this show drop F bombs. It’s like every other line has f bombs. Oh and there’s some graphic deliveries - a compilation scene of bloody births. Made me regret having nachos for dinner.
I don’t know if I’ll watch more. Perhaps not.perhaps
