Outer Range - thatguy - 04-17-2022
Josh Brolin is a rancher in Wyoming. The backstory is his son's wife has been missing for sometime. The ranch is struggling, and short handed. He's lost a couple heads of cattle. There's a rival ranch next door led by an unscrupulous guy with some asshole kids, and fancy new ranching methods.
He finds a mystical gaping hole on his land. He throws things in. What is it? A hidey-hole, that's what it is.

I want this to be good. I fear it will not be. I'm more tempted after they showed a scene on The Late Show where Brolin rails against god for not being there for him as part of saying Grace before dinner.

Season finale. Not so much a cliff hanger, but the writer(s) must have thought Hey, we're go for another season, let's not bother to close the loose ends. Instead, let's just turn up the intensity, throw in some twists, get all the characters upset and leave it at that.
It's not bad, just that I would recommend not starting this series until there's more episodes...it feels like we're mid-season.

Finished Season 2. Per my note about the finale of season 1, there was long enough of a gap between the two seasons that I found it hard to recall what had happened to each character. It took me a few episodes to get back into the swing of the story. While it is a bit confusing, I’m enjoying it, especially about the story line of the native american Sheriff, Joy. Spoiler: There’s some funny bits, told totally straight, involving Zeppelin.
Season 2 ends much like season 1. The writers know there’s another season coming. None of the loose ends have been tied up.
If you can’t wait for season 3 to drop, it’s ok to binge season 1 & 2 now.
