The Man who invented Christmas (2017) - Drunk Monk - 12-25-2018

A disappointing embellishment on a Christmas Carol. We know Dickens will succeed in writing it so his breakthroughs are inconsequential. Oh - he thinks up the name Scrooge - as if that wasn’t going to happen. Chris Plummer is a decent Scrooge and Jon Pryce aka best actor to be cast as ed in the Netflix’s DOOM doc, is ok as dicken’s dad. The way the writing process was depicted was absurd - that the characters, once imagined, would tell you their stories and follow you about like hallucinatory voices in your head. The only part that rang true was the constant interruptions. Hp factor 1 (pomfrey) downtown factor 1 (Matthew). Bah humbug.

Should’ve rewatched Die Hard instead.
