Clone Wars - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 11-26-2008 Anakin is much better as a cartoon. It wasn't bad. The story was better than the movie but it had a television feel to the plot. All the motivation was very straightforward. Must rescue jabba's son. Must climb to castle. Must call Obi-wan. The battles were big and I liked them, but they were, much like the plot, very straight forward. Everybody's form of attack was to walk straight at your attacker as they fired at you. I was oddly attracted to the female cartoon villain. They gave her a tank top for some reason. Maybe it's time to go back to the Zombie Strippers. The movie did have the effect of making me want to see some of the series. But not a great deal. I followed this up with the South Park episode about Indianna Jones and the Crystal Skull. Basically Spielberg and Lucas spend the episode raping Indy. It seemed appropriate. RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 07-21-2018 RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 01-23-2020 RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 03-22-2020 s7e5 - Ashoka's tale picks up where it left off when she left the jedi order. I'll tune in for her story arc, to see how she'll get to the Mandolorian, and to see when Maul returns. I might go back to fill in some of Ashoka's tale. Maul has a lot of loose ends. His arc in Clone Wars and Solo are left dangling. There's some resolution in Rebels, but then again, that's what we thought about Phantom Menace. And Rebels really left Ashoka dangling. I'm hoping he can make it all the way to Mandolorian somehow. If Ashoka can do it, so can Maul. RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 04-22-2020 s7e8: Maul is back but only as a hologram and the leader of the Crimson Dawn. Ashoka looses her newfound friends from e5 in a some filler story arc. Now we're back to the main story, leading into EPIII: RotS. s7e9: Ashoka rejoins Anakin and Obiwan but only for a moment, just enough time for Anakin to give her her long and short lightsabers. Then she's off to hunt down Maul... on Mandalore. Ashoka shows she's still got great lightsaber game in the raid on Mandalore. This episode ends with the cliffhanger of Maul and Ashoka face-to-face in the Mandalorian sewers. Let there be lightsaber fights. Of course we know they will both survive because Maul appears in Solo and then again with Ashoka in Rebels. RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 04-28-2020 s7e10 This ep starts with a lightsaber duel and ends with an epic lightsaber duel. Maul v Ashoka. And in the backdrop, Mandalorians v Mandalorians. Good ep. Clone Wars is now on the precipice of Order 66. RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 04-29-2020 Ray still gotz the power of the darkside. Quote:Watch the Original Darth Maul Help Bring Clone Wars' Most Incredible Lightsaber Duel to Life RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 05-06-2020 Couldn’t get e11. Just my luck right now. That was clearly the order 66 Ep The finale was okay. It sets up Rebels and Vader. It was more about e10 and probably e11. The finale season isn’t that interesting. Most of it was this subplot for Ashoka that was just filler. The Maul reappearance was great and it somewhat concludes his story arc in this, sending him on to the next series in the franchise. Just watch that part. Ashoka is good but it’s about Maul. Really just go to the last 3 eps. Not the emotional goodbye I was hoping for. Made me want to rewatch Rebels RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 05-12-2020 Went back for e11. So Clone Wars concludes with a 4-ep (9-12) series dubbed the Siege of Mandalore. Clone eps are about 24 mins long so the concluding series is really just one movie, and it's worth the watch. It takes us through Order 66 and sets up Mandalorian S2. If you only watch this piece of Clone Wars, it's all you'll need, although Maul's and Ashoka's story arcs are solid - those you'll have to dig for - use wookiepedia. RE: Clone Wars - Greg - 05-19-2020 Seen it. Noticed that everybody runs like the Toy Soldiers in the Toy Story movie. And I'm not a big fan of the character designs. I thought we were going to see Dark Saber and Bo-Katan back story, but no. I feel lied to. But it was fun. Lots of action and adventure. Lots of light saber duels. Some good action sequence. It does make some stuff cleared. tQ said it made her want to see Reveng of the Sith again. I concurred. One reviewer doesn't like the show because it redeems Revenge of the Sith. I might go back and watch more but I'm still put off by the character styling. No, that's all in Rebels http://brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=3209 RE: Clone Wars - Drunk Monk - 05-23-2020 I got into this big conversation with a fellow fan unaware of Dark Saber lore and pulled this up from Clone Wars so I'm sharing so you don't have to watch all of that to get there. Pre Vizsla was the only Mandalorian Jedi and made the Dark Saber, which is a one of a kind weapon. |
